Letting Go to Find Ourselves

Hey friend,
When we felt called to sell our home in Wisconsin and move to Mexico, we didn’t have all the answers. We just knew we were being asked to let go.
So we did something wild: We sold or donated almost everything we owned — and downsized to a few suitcases.
I (Jaime) grew up in the self-storage business, and Our biggest competitor wasn’t always another storage facility — it was the dumpster.
People would pay to store their things for years… and one day, their kids would rent a dumpster and throw most of it away.
I didn’t want to live that story.
So we let go of the furniture, the art, the tools, the books — and even the idea of needing them.It wasn’t easy. We had to face every emotional attachment, every what if, every identity that lived inside the stuff we owned.

But through that process, we found something much more valuable — peace, space, and clarity.
Over these past 18 months in Mexico, our family has learned that transformation is not just spiritual. It’s physical, emotional, and relational.
It changes how we dress. How we speak. How we relate. And even how we breathe.
When we first arrived and cleared our calendars — no board meetings, no lawn to mow, no community events to attend — something unexpected happened: We had space.
And with space… came the emotions we had buried. The anger. The resentment. The disappointment. All the feelings that had been pushed down under years of productivity and performance.
At first, it was uncomfortable — even painful. But as we made room for those feelings, something miraculous happened.
We began to feel free.
We learned to be okay with being alone. We untangled co-dependencies and patterns of over-giving. We discovered the beliefs that had capped our joy and limited our receiving. And we found new ways to navigate our deepest fears — together.
We realized that when we stay busy, we distract ourselves from the real healing waiting underneath. The stillness is what lets the soul speak.
And now… we’re letting go again.
Leaving Mexico feels like another layer of surrender — saying goodbye to a place we love so deeply. The cenotes, the ocean, the warmth, the barefoot days. (Yes, I’ll probably still be barefoot in Colorado as much as possible — shoes and I just don’t align.)
We’re following a new call — to the mountains of Colorado. To trees, to fresh air, to space for our five boys who are ready for a new chapter. They’ve given us so much grace and space to heal as a couple here — and now, it’s time for a season of adventure, grounding, and growth together as a family.
We’ll be in Lafayette, just north of Denver, for the next several months — open to wherever Spirit leads next. And as we go, we’re carrying the lessons of Mexico in our hearts: The power of space. The beauty of simplicity. And the truth that healing is not a destination — it’s a lifestyle.

We’ve learned that this kind of transformation isn’t for everyone. It can feel like an unraveling — because in many ways, it is.
But there’s a part of me that always whispers, “What if?” and “Why not?”
Artists reinvent themselves. Entrepreneurs evolve. Families relocate for the sake of growth and calling. What if success isn’t what the world tells us — but what peace feels like in our bodies?
What if alignment — not achievement — is the true measure of wealth?
For us, Believe Crew has always been about that. Helping people reconnect with who they really are. Learning to love themselves fully. Stepping into their calling and spiritual gifts with confidence and peace. Creating success that feels good in the body, safe in the nervous system, and grounded in legacy and love.
A few years ago, when I turned 40, I wrote a 30-year letter to myself — imagining I was 70 and looking back on my life. In that vision, Kevin and I were living out of suitcases, traveling, working with people we loved, and creating sacred spaces for transformation.
At the time, I thought that would happen after we “retired.” I didn’t expect it to start just three years later.
And yet… here we are.
Living the letter. Leading from intuition. Building an ecosystem where healing meets strategy and love fuels legacy.
As we move into this next season, we’re expanding what Believe Crew offers. We’ll continue to serve clients through Trusted Advisor Alignments and create private, custom retreat experiences — both virtual and in person.
Sometimes, we’ll come to you. Other times, you’ll come to us. Either way — the goal is the same: to help you return to yourself.
And we’d love to invite you into the next conversation.
